Twinke Twinkle Little Star

I started my christmas baking today. Lots to do this week, so started with some star shaped shortbread biscuits, topped with icing and lots of glitter and Xmassy decorations. Gving my sewing machine a break for Christmas and putting my mum's oven to good use. Hopefully I will get pictures up during the week of what else I have planned to bake: Caramel Diam Bar Cake, White Chocolate Fudge Cake, Peppermint Cupcakes and Gingerbread Cupcakes.

Now all I have to do, is eat them..YUM!!

Snow What?

Hello all! I've been very neglectful - 2 weeks since my last post! Also very lazy, as I have not lifted a needle or thread in that space of time either. I've been home for Xmas and have been enjoying seeing friends, baking, shopping and mostly playing in the snow! I did however by some lovely fabric in Belfast's Spinning Wheel so I hope to get the sewing machine out and finish a few Christmas presents. Hope you are all enjoying the snow!!

Weekend Crafting

I was a bit lost this weekend, with all my Christmas presents for people made and things finished for upcoming fairs, I found myself wondering what to make. So in the end I decided to make these little owls, which I just think are so cute with their big beady eyes. Hope you enjoy looking...

December 1st = Advent Calenders!

I love the 1st of December, getting advent calender - fab having a sweet every morning as you get up. I thought I would be creative this year and make my own, and I have to admit I love it. I love the fact I could pick whatever sweets I wanted to place inside each of the little pockets. Hope you have all enjoyed your first calender treat of Decemeber 2010!

Exhibition Sneak Peek

Well this is hand in week for 'The Wheel' exhibtion in Banbury opening next week. Below are a few photos of the pieces I am submitting, but I'll get some photos when they are on display at the actual exhibition. I've loved making them all, the below are very much Autumn inspired pieces.

Hello Christmas!

I am loving how close it is to Christmas! I tried to get a photo of my tree, but it isn't coming out to well. I did make some bits and pieces for it to jazz it up a little. I made some cute bunting - I'm not a big fan of tinsel, but love my tree to be wrapped in something! Also my christmas baubles sell quite well at the fairs during the Xmas months, but there were a few I couldn't part with and had to put up on my tree so enjoy having a wee nosey at the photos...

I had a great day today at my first craft fair in Banbury - lovely atmosphere inside a beautiful church building. Here are a few pictures on my stall....

The 5th of November

I've been busy making my crafts for a craft fair tonight and its been lovely looking out at the night sky seeing the fireworks to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night - very exciting as I usually don't celebrate it back home in Northern Ireland!!!

Merry Hallowe'en!

Here are a few pictures of my pumpkins I carved for this year - so pleased with how they turned out, especially the 'Happy Hallowe'en' one!! Have a spooktacular day!

Busy Busy!

I had a very productive morning! Firstly I baked my first ever apple pie - have to admit, I was a tad worried about doing the pastry, but  it was all grand, and due to not owning a rolling pin yet, a trusty old rose bottle did the trick instead! Thom and I are just after a slice with vanilla ice crem and it was absolutely yummy! I also made another cushion, with the same fabric as my power puff pillow, so hopefully they will find they way to a nice new owner together!

Gift Envelopes

I was busy last night and today making some 'Gift Envelopes'. I think these are a great way to give gifts to people instead of wrapping paper and gift bags. They are even a great addition to your handbag to put keys, jewellery and little bits and bobs into that would normally be buried away at the bottom. As the back is plain, a personalised message can be embroidered on to it, to make it an extra special gift!

Hallowe'en Bag

I spotted some hallowe'en fabric and just had to make something crafty! This cute little bag was simple to run up on the sewing machine, and I love how it turned up, particularly the black and orange ribbon brooch to go with it. I will put a tutorial up in the next week of how to make this type of bag, just using different fabric. Only a week until Hallowe'en nowo - I'll be busy carving my pumpkins this week and shall sahre some photos once they are done.

Autumn Brooch and Necklace

Autumn Necklace

Pinwheel Brooch
I made the above necklace a while ago, but with the colours outside and the current season, I thought it would 'Autumn' up my blog! I hunted out the left over fabric today and made this cute pinwheel brooch - just the things to brighten up a jacket on these chilly days!

Caramel Cake

Diam Bar Caramel Cake
It's not just crafting that I love, also love a bit of baking! Just ever so pleased with my caramel cake that I baked for my brother and sister-in-law's visit to Banbury this weekend. Have no idea how it will taste - but shall definitely be sitting down to a slice with X Factor and Strictly later!

Autumn Times

Amy Cooke Designs has been taking a break from crafting this week, and has been primary school teaching instead! I don't want to miss out on my blogging fun, and just wanted to share some Autumn photos with you that I found. I absolutely love the Autumn season, with the change in colour, weather and everything, especially Halloween! Enjoy...

Autumn Neckpiece

I am so chuffed with my Autumn Neckpiece. This piece is made with a range of different sized yo-yos and zig-zag stitched randomly together creating a funky neckpiece. There is a hook and eye clasp to clip together. I loved the autumn coloured fabrics, with the metallic sheens coming through. Made to fit an neck size of 37cm. This piece is for sale at £16.00 plus £2.00 for P&P.

Ollie the Octopus

Checked Kimono Booties
What an exciting and busy week it has been. Loving my new website and hope you have all had a look and like too. My 'Amy Cooke Designs' woven labels arrived today, they're not photographing too well at the moment so I shall put some up when I have finished my next 'Ruffle Puffle'. Ollie the Octopus was made this week and a pair of Kimono baby booties to be sent to Belfast to keep someones tootsies warm. Bought hallowe'en fabric this week so I shall be busy over the next few weeks with Autumn/Hallowe'eny Textiles!
